Thorsten Heitzmann

After high school graduation and civilian service, he studied jazz trombone at the Cologne University of Music with Jiggs Whigham, Adrian Mears and Henning Berg. During this time Thorsten Heitzmann was a member of the Landesjugendjazzorchester NRW and the Bundesjugenjazzorchester.

Engagements in various musicals followed: Hair European Tour, Saturday Night Fever at the Musicaldome Cologne, Chicago at the Capitoltheater Düsseldorf, Die 13 1/2 leben des Käpt' Blaubär, Motown The Music Show at the St.Pauli Theater Hamburg and Maaghall Zurich.
In the jazz field performances with, among others: Wolfgang Schmidtke Orchestra, NDR Big Band, Big Band Convention, African-European Jazz Orchestra (Lt. Francois Jenneau), Steve Lacy, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Nils Wogram, Terrence Ngassa, Peter Brötzmann, Rainer Witzel.

With his own jazz/funk formation ; concerts at many festivals: Jazzrally Düsseldorf, Jazzcitynight Braunschweig, Jazzfest Görlitz, Musikmarathon Eupen, Ostseejazz Rostock, Jazzfest Idstein, Jazz in den Ministergärten Berlin...

Trombonist in the AnkeLateNight Show (2004) on SAT1 / Electric Lady Band. Within the LateNight Show work with Nina Hagen, Matt Bianco, Brandy, Till Brönner, Jan-Josef Liefers and others.
