Kaloyan Trifonov

Kaloyan Trifonov, graduate of the National Music High School "L. Pipkov" Sofia in the double bass class of B. Simitchieva, graduated in double bass in the class of Prof. Todor Toshev and Prof. Dr. Petya Bagovska at the National Music Academy "P. Vladigerov" Sofia, Bulgaria.
He completed postgraduate studies in double bass with Prof. Klaus Trumpf (HFMT Munich) and Prof. Cajus Oana (RSK-Munich) - double bass and chamber music.
Active participant in various master classes with Prof. Thomas Martin (England), Prof. Klaus Trumpf (Germany), Prof. Michel Veillon (Switzerland).
He performed as a soloist and member of the chamber orchestras of NMU "L. Pipkov" and HFMT Munich.
He played in the Bulgarian National Radio Orchestra and in various European chamber and symphony orchestras such as ONB Brussels, SO Antwerp, Belgium, Hofer Sinfoniker, Germany, etc.
A number of recordings on various CD and DVD productions - symphonic, chamber music, musical.
Laureate of the Bulgarian national competitions "St. Obretenov" Provadia 1996 and "Stefan Sugarev" Kyustendil 1989.
2019-2023 leads the master class in double bass in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria.
Since 2009 he works as a permanent member of the ensemble "Virtuoso Munich".
